Caves House Hotel Yallingup
The Best Regional Venue award is judged on how the venue caters for its specific local area, tourism appeal, natural ambience, popularity, atmosphere, food and beverage, staff, entertainment and community contribution.
The award win was significant for Seashells Hospitality Group, manager of Caves House Hotel for the past five years.
In accepting the award, Seashells Managing Director and Tourism Council President Paul King said the award was ironic and bittersweet given the Group had been managing the Hotel for receivers for the past two years. He made special acknowledgement of General Manager Stephen Sheridan and his team who will continue to run the pub from early December 2011 on the behalf of the receivers. Seashells will continue to run its award winning properties throughout the state.
The win was particularly important for the organisation and recognition for the skills of both the Seashells head office team and the Caves House Hotel team in managing regional properties in difficult times.
“Whilst the Hotel has been in the hands of receivers for approximately two years, our team at Caves House has proactively worked to sustain and grow the Hotel’s business and reputation.
“The focus over the past 12 months has been on the local community and the team has strived to create a new family-friendly dining style in keeping with Caves’ historic reputation as a great pub.
“This has succeeded and the Hotel has grown its local patronage as well as continuing to enjoy hosting people from across Western Australia celebrating weddings and special occasions, plus people visiting the region on holiday.
“I am so proud of our team at Yallingup and this award is a huge acknowledgement of their determination, pride and positive attitude over this time,” Paul said.
Amandah Ellis, Functions and Events Co-ordinator at Caves House Hotel, was a finalist for the AHA – HGT Hotel Industry Rising Star Award.

Surgery – A very extreme and expensive option indeed, it can help to get rid of stretch marks below the belly button.

Rub vitamin E gel into the stretch marks on your thighs. Vitamin E helps get rid of the stretch marks on your thighs by increasing the rate at which your skin cells produce. The faster your cells grow, the faster you can get rid of your stretch marks. The new skin cells repair the damaged tissue at the very root where your stretch marks form. Buy a bottle of vitamin E gel caps and poke holes into several. Squeeze out the liquid inside until you have a fair amount of liquid, enough to rub into all the stretch marks on your inner thighs. Let the liquid evaporate into your skin. The author of “Prescription for Natural Cures,” James Balch says you should put the vitamin E on your stretch marks two times a day.
Hydrate your body. The Mayo Clinic says you should drink at least 64 ounces of water every day to keep your body hydrated. This is essential for getting rid of the stretch marks on your inner thighs because hydrated skin is soft and “moisturized” skin that nourishes the roots of your skin where your stretch marks form. The Cleveland Clinic says when you hydrate your skin cells, you can stop stretch marks from forming and fade ones that are already on your inner thighs.

Laser Resurfacing
Several types of laser treatments have shown some success with getting rid of stretch marks or at least improving their appearance, although these methods are often quite expensive. Pulsed dye laser therapy penetrates the top layer of the skin to stimulate the growth of new tissue directly in the dermis layer, where the marks are found. This method may cause bruising and change the color of the skin, and may need to be repeated for best results.
Fractional laser resurfacing, also called fractional photothermolysis, works by causing microscopically small wounds in the skin, prompting the body to make new collagen. Studies have found that this method is effective in reducing the appearance and texture of stretch marks in the majority of patients. Side effects include some redness and swelling, and it usually takes several months for improvements to be seen.
Surgery
The only guaranteed option to completely remove stretch marks is through surgery, although this is not always practical, depending on where the marks are. Those on the lower stomach can be removed with a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, in which a portion of the skin on the abdomen is cut away. If the person has striae from gaining weight quickly and has since lost weight, stretch marks may be removed along with loose skin with body-contouring surgery. Surgery is often the most expensive of treatments, and will require a fairly extensive recovery time. Before resorting to cosmetic surgery, patients should discuss all appropriate treatments with a dermatologist.

Drink Water: Keep yourself well hydrated with water and fruit juices to make your skin look younger and maintain the elasticity. This would prevent further appearance of stretch marks if you lose weight again.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are a more extreme measure for treating stretch marks on the thighs. The procedure requires a visit to a dermatologist and may require a follow-up appointment. The dermatologist applies a liquid solution that burns the top layer of skin, causing it to blister and peel. This damage stimulates the body to produce more collagen to heal the area and create a new layer of skin. Chemical peels are not effective on every type of stretch mark, however, because they only affect the topmost layer of the skin.
Exfoliation
Because the thighs tend to be an area where fat collects and elasticity can break down, it can help the skin’s condition to exfoliate it. You can buy an all-natural product from the Aveeno, Neutrogena, Oil of Olay or Burt’s Bees lines and add a homemade mix to boost its power to attack stretch marks. Begin with the exfoliant and add the gel from a vitamin E capsule, aloe vera gel, cod liver oil and olive oil. Rubbing this mixture on the skin in a circular motion can slough off dead skin cells and get the blood circulating.

General Manager Deb Williams was working in her office, when she suddenly spotted one of her guests with a baby crocodile, which was making it’s way across the property’s front entry.
“I’ve been working here for four years, and have never seen anything like this before,” Deb said.
“We brought it inside and managed to put it in the first thing I could find – an esky – and called the Malcolm Douglas Broome Crocodile Park for assistance.
“They came round and collected it straight away and will keep it at the park.
“I’m glad it was OK and didn’t make it as far as our tropical swimming pool!”
