New era for Seashells Hospitality Group with the launch of Nautica Residences

Seashells Hospitality Group has developed and launched a new brand and company to fill a gap in Western Australia’s short-stay accommodation market.

Nautica Residences by Seashells will provide a flexible accommodation management structure for owners who prefer a more self-managed, independent approach but seek the support and business acumen of experienced holiday property managers.

The brand launches with Nautica Residences Fremantle on 1 July 2021, previously Seashells Fremantle.

Nautica Residences by Seashells General Manager Ben Chenery said Seashells Fremantle guests would notice very little difference to their accommodation experience and would simply book via nauticaresidences.com.au or the usual online travel agents.

“There will be a staged transition to Nautica Residences and the property’s high quality, apartment upkeep and interior furnishings will remain,” he said.

“The main change is for the accommodation owners who wanted to use their holiday properties more frequently and have greater control over their bookings.

“Nautica Residences by Seashells provides owners with the opportunity to list their holiday property in a similar way to what they would do with AirBnB, but with the support of a locally-owned, trusted hospitality management company.

“The Nautica concept was developed by Seashells Hospitality Group some time ago but COVID-19 provided a catalyst to make it happen, as apartment owners sought more flexibility with their holiday property, particularly to use themselves more frequently.

“Owners have the flexibility of staying in their own holiday apartment for longer. We are providing a pared back version of the traditional model to avoid a one-size-fits all approach.”

“Seashells Hospitality Group owners continue to benefit from pooled maintenance and refurbishment costs, significant group marketing, and greater consistency of income.

“By offering both the Seashells Hospitality Group and Nautica Residences ownership structures we are catering to a greater variety of owner situations and demand,” Chenery said.

Nautica Residences will utilise Seashells’ experienced housekeeping staff for Nautica Apartments Fremantle and hire additional staff as more apartment listings come on board across Perth and WA.

Chenery said Nautica had commitments from apartment owners in Scarborough and eight apartments at Hillarys Boat Harbour would be coming online shortly.

Chenery is an experienced hospitality and property manager who has been with Seashells Hospitality Group for more than five years in roles including General Manager for Seashells Mandurah and Area Manager for Seashells Scarborough and Fremantle.
